Photographer with a long international experience for relevant brands and companies, he began in 2009 to collaborate also in social projects that led him to discover various countries from Sierra Leone to Central Africa, including Northern Uganda where he accompanied us on two missions . Here is our reality through his eyes.

"This year it was my second experience at Dr. Ambrosoli Memorial Hospital and also this time it was really strong, sweet and unforgettable.
Collaborating in the past with Unicef, I have traveled extensively in Africa trying to tell a reality, so far from our everyday life that it can cause strong emotions and  leave a deep mark.
But Kalongo and the Memorial Hospital have something special that is difficult to explain, we could even say  that this place is still filled with the spirit of Father Giuseppe Ambrosoli, with his dedication to his neighbor with no ifs and buts. This spirit is perceivable through all the people who work in the hospital, from the nurses who study at Sister Carmel's school, to the doctors, the volunteers and all the people who decide to dedicate part of their life to Kalongo by teaching, helping and saving lives.

Both trips to Kalongo lasted several days, giving me the opportunity to fully experience the hospital with all of them, knowing people well and feeling part of the hospital itself; experiencing together joys and sorrows, listening to the fears, hopes and dreams of hospitalized  people, of all the people who work in the hospital and  of the Combonian Fathers who carry forward the ideals of its founder.

In particular, this year I was able to tell with my images the birth of a child, following "Susan" which allowed me to photograph her during the pre-birth visit, the preparation in the operating room, the Cesarean delivery and the hug of a mother to her newborn son. Attending a birth is a shocking and wonderful experience at the same time, something I will bring with me forever.

Living an experience in Africa and especially in Kalongo is something I would recommend to everyone, because too often we forget how lucky we are since we live in the "easy" part of the world. We forget that what we call “ordinary things” are often dreams that are hard to realize in countries like this. Getting out of your comfort zone and experiencing a reality that most people cannot even imagine, rebalances and resets the scale of values for each of us ".
